Shipping & Refunds
Q: When will my order be shipped?
- Your order will be processed and shipped within 2 business days of World of Maps receiving the order provided the item(s) is in stock and there are no problems with your order.
- Business days do not include weekends or holidays.
- Delays in shipping will occur if:
- The order form is incorrectly filled out (e.g. Invalid address or incomplete address such as an Apt# or Suite# missing)
- Your credit card number or expiry date is invalid or the card is declined
- An item is out of stock
- No phone number or an invalid phone number is provided
- If an item is out of stock, the order will be shipped when the item is available. (we will contact you by email to inform you)
- When paying by money order or wire transfer the order will be shipped as soon as the payment has been received and verified.
- World of Maps will make every effort to ship an order as quickly as possible. However, World of Maps cannot guarantee delivery by specific dates or times.
- Please order well in advance should you require a product by a specific date and indicate the date you need the product by if there is a deadline date.
- World of Maps does NOT offer overnight courier service.
- World of Maps uses Canada Post and UPS for shipping.
- Prices listed do NOT include any tax or tariff imposed by the government of the destination country.
- Please check with you local government agency to determine the applicable tariffs. In general, books, maps, and other paper products are not dutiable items.
- World of Maps is not responsible for any brokerage fee charged.
- World of Maps does not charge GST or any other tax to products ordered from outside of Canada.
- International Shipping Rates (outside Canada and the US)
- Shipping rates for orders will be emailed to customers.
- Please check with you local government agency to determine the applicable tariffs. In general, books, maps, and other paper products are not dutiable items.
- World of Maps is not responsible for any brokerage fee charged.
- World of Maps does not charge GST or any other tax to products being shipped outside of Canada.
- Local Ottawa Orders
- Please be advised that all Ottawa orders placed online are subject to the same processing time as all other online orders.
- Orders will be processed within 2 business days of us receiving the order.
- Orders with a Ottawa delivery address will be shipped in the same manner as all other orders unless a specific request otherwise has been made.
- Should you require faster service, please call of fax in your orders to the numbers listed below. Local Ottawa courier charges will be provided once an order is placed.

- Any and all shipping times given are approximate and may be subject to delays.
- World of Maps cannot control delays due to:
- Customs clearance delays
- An incorrect address provided by the customer (please check your order for accuracy prior to submitting).
- Attempted delivery but the customer is not home to receive the delivery
- Extreme weather
- Postal strikes
- Refunds for shipping charges will not be issued should any of the above delays occur.
- We want you to be happy with your purchase and shop with confidence at World of Maps.
- If there are any problems with your order we request that you email us at [email protected] or call us to let us know what the nature of the problem is before returning any items.
- Please understand that we will not accept returns on software, or digital products that have been opened, but we will offer an exchange for the identical product if the one you receive is defective. Proof of purchase is required.
- The customer is responsible for all return shipping charges of the product. A refund for the original purchase price of the products will be issued in the form of a "Gift Card" once World of Maps receives the returned merchandise in good re-sellable condition. World of Maps does not refund the original billed shipping charges. The "Gift Card" has no expiry date and the number printed on it can be used for telephone or website purchases as well. There are no refunds by cash or credit card.
- Refused Delivery: If a customer refuses delivery of a package and the package is returned to us by UPS on our account, the customer will receive a refund for the purchase price of the item(s) minus any shipping charges billed on our account.
- Refunds / Retuns are NOT allowed for any special ordered items.
Refused or Undeliverable Orders
Q: Under what circumstances might my order be returned to World of Maps as undeliverable?- Incorrect address provided by the customer.
- Customer is consistently not available to receive the package.
- Customer does not respond to "Attempted Delivery" card left by the delivery company.
- Package is refused. This can occur if the shipping address is an office or apartment building and the customer does not inform reception staff of the upcoming delivery.
- Package is sent to a person who is not aware that the customer is sending them a package. The order is then refused.
- Customer has moved.
- If a package is returned to World of Maps for the above reasons, additional shipping charges will apply for World of Maps to re-send the order.
- Please ensure all information on the order form is correct prior to submitting an order; if you need to change incorrect information, please notify World of Maps immediately after submitting an order. Once an order is shipped, we cannot change information.
- If the "ship to" person is different than the "bill to" person, please inform the "ship to" person that a package will be coming.
- Please let all reception staff at offices or apartment buildings know that you are expecting a shipment.
